Halloween Treats For Your Bones and Skeleton

Your body's foundation is your skeleton, your bones, and together with your joints, they are what help you stay active.  The scary fact is that musculoskeletal conditions are among the most common causes of chronic disability worldwide.

So, are you going to treat them to candy bars at Halloween and all year round, or provide something more beneficial?

To give your joints and bones the best opportunity to stay strong and agile, include these activities and products into your daily routine:

1.  Weight-bearing activities at the gym or around the house.  Also, maintaining your ideal body weight can reduce back and knee discomfort.  I use the USANA Nutrimeal shakes and bars for meal replacements to keep my weight in check.

2.  Load up on omega-3 and glucosamine, found in BiOmega and Procosa to keep your joints moving.

3.  Cut back on excessive alcohol and tobacco use.  They can contribute to decreased bone density and can increase the risk of fractures.

4.  Reduce the risk of osteoporosis with optimal levels of  Calcium and Vitamin D.

5.  Within your healthy balanced diet, get plenty of bone-enriching foods, like yogurt, beans and soy.

Take proper care of your bones and joints today, so they don't come back to haunt you!
