In Business, You Become Who You Associate With

In Business and Life, Who Do You Hang Out With?

If you want to be successful with a home-based business, then hang around successful people. This is where you’ll gain new ideas, be inspired and be motivated to push through to new levels.

“Choose your friends carefully,” my parents cautioned as I grew up. “They can pull you up, or drag you down. You can do the same for them.”

That has echoed in my mind over the years. Working from home, it’s especially important to choose excellent business partners, because they are in essence your board of directors. Their input affects your bottom line.

That doesn’t mean you don’t help people in need, because network marketing is one of the few avenues where you can help people from all walks of life find a new passion, purpose and plan for their lives.

Sometimes it’s the person you least expect who will rise to the highest levels in a network marketing company. Their “why” was big enough to jump over barriers and learn how to win.

And there is the key word. Learn. Who do you learn from? People who have never been successful? People who make excuses and quit too soon?

No. Get to know the leaders in Usana who have persevered through the ups and downs of the business. Spend time with them. Attend functions where they are speaking or are in charge of the training. Invite them to your city, or get them on a live webcast. Study how they think. What do they say and do to attract new people to their teams?

In fact, join organizations in your city where top people assemble. Places like business clubs, golf clubs, arts groups, sports organizations. Volunteer on their committees to learn how they function, and perhaps, when they see your leadership skills, you’ll attract them to your business.
