Want to Lose Weight, Get Fit?

How many times a week do you hear people say they want to lose weight?

On the other hand, how many say they want to be more fit? Have great abs? Nice arms? Not as many. That takes hard work and daily commitment.

But the payoffs for both fitness and weight management are huge.

There are days when I don't feel like going to the gym early in the morning. In fact, I lie in bed thinking of excuses to give my trainer as to why I had to stay home. Once I get over that state of laziness, I go to the gym and am so glad for the workout.

You've read the articles. Obesity, or even being mildly overweight, can make us more susceptible to health challenges like Diabetes, heart disease, cancer, arthritis, depression.

The exercise I'm doing in the photo, strengthens the core, which is so important for just about everything you do in life. You can do this one at home, while watching your favorite tv show. Do lunges and squats as well.

I have enjoyed working out to the videos featuring Usana's personal trainer, Kathy Kaehler, available on Usana's blog: www.whatsupusana.com

Whatever your state of fitness and health, make time every day for a 30 minute walk indoors or out. Lift weights or work with stretch bands. Invest in an exercise ball and kettle bell. You'll feel better and increase your odds for a healthier life.

Oh, and of course, take your Usana supplements. I love the shakes, bars and Rev3 energy drink as well. They all work together to help us achieve our goals.
