Five Days to a #Healthy, #Slim You!

Can you really get healthy and slim in five days? Well, you can certainly get a great start!

We recently took two business trips. One to Phoenix and one to Las Vegas. Delicious food was everywhere. Much of it was calling my name. But I resisted to a pretty good degree.

However, I did manage to put on a few pounds, mainly because I wasn't at the gym as often, and I missed my personal trainer, Blake Wood from First Choice Fitness, pushing me to challenge myself. A little line dancing did help some.

So, I'm back on the Usana Reset Five Day program, where I'll have a delicious and nutritious Nutrimeal shake for breakfast, lunch and supper, and then one of the energy bars for snacks in the morning and afternoon. The new Peanut Butter Crunch bar is so creamy and delicious, I could eat one five times a day and miss the Nutrimeals! Of course a person needs some form of exercise each day.

The idea behind the five day program is to cut the carb cravings and balance the metabolism. It also gives the colon a rest from digesting heavier meals. The result is usually the loss of 4 or 5 pounds on average. Then, I'll go to the transform stage with two Nutrimeals a day, plus one bar and a balanced, low glycemic meal.

We're invited to a wedding social, so this will be my test. Do I have the fortitude and perseverance to resist the food there? How serious am I about losing this weight and getting back in better shape? Hmmmmm.

Calories in. Calories out. When you don't conform to a program like this on one of the five days, you better get outside and have a long, fast walk. So, if you see me out walking, you'll know what happened at the social....
